Dorothy and the Wizard came up on Friday night for the Demolition Derby. I took a bunch of pics and a few movies and we are working on the software to get photos from my phone easier, so hopefully I can post more of them tomorrow.

But these were a few of my favorites hehe!!

Its official: Michael Savage is an idiot… (as if this really is a newsflash…)

Posted in ranting at 9:36 pm by fakeppy

Savage: ‘In 99 percent of the cases’ of autism, ‘it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out.

Yesterday on his radio show, right wing talker Michael Savage said that autism is “a fraud” and “a racket” and that “in 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out.

” Savage then asserted that all these “brat[s]” need as a father to tell them to “stop acting like a putz“:

That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’” Savage concluded, “[I]f I behaved like a fool, my father called me a fool. And he said to me, ‘Don’t behave like a fool.’ The worst thing he said — ‘Don’t behave like a fool. Don’t be anybody’s dummy. Don’t sound like an idiot. Don’t act like a girl. Don’t cry.’ That’s what I was raised with. That’s what you should raise your children with. Stop with the sensitivity training. You’re turning your son into a girl, and you’re turning your nation into a nation of losers and beaten men. That’s why we have the politicians we have.

Savage later claimed that there was “an asthma epidemic amongst minority children” because “the children got extra welfare if they were disabled.”

I made pasta with Myzithra, balsamic vinegar and browned sugar glazed brussels sprouts, and fried tempeh. It was really yummy even though the picture makes it all look kinda gross lol.

Bluer than the sky, Greener than the grass, and Taller than the trees

Posted in love thursday at 11:27 pm by fakeppy

Since Ally was a baby, I’ve told my kids that I love them Bluer than the Sky, Greener than the Grass, and Taller than the Trees. Usually they giggle and say it back, but I know they listen because sometimes, when they really want to make sure I know that they love me – the tell me to tell them how much I love them, and they say part of this little saying…

After two HORRIBLE days with Ally (which I won’t go into right now) she was laying on the couch while we were watching TV just now and said, Mom… do you love me higher than the trees? And I said of course I do, Ally… She said I love you Bluer than the Sky too, Mom.

There are little things like that which make you ALMOST forget everything else that’s happened that day, you know? I’m not a cry-at-everything type of gal, but I must admit a little tear welled up when she said that, after the gut-wrenching two days we’ve had with one another.

And then she said, “I’m sorry, Mommy.” I asked her what for, and she said, “For everything…” I told her I was very glad to hear that and gave her a kiss.

My mom always said to me, “I may not always LIKE you very much, but I always LOVE you, no matter what.” And that’s true for every relationship, I’ve found. Its nice to hear your kids say they love you and know they really, really mean it…
