How Cool My Daughter Is…
So we are driving in the car the other night and she says out of the blue – “You know that artist, Andy Warhol?” I’m like, “Uh, yeah?” (totally excited inside that she brought up the subject lol). She says “Well, I saw his Marilyn Monroe’s today, and his Endangered Species…” I said, “Did you like them?” This conversation went on for a while, then she started talking about Van Gogh and “Starry, Starry Night”. I was on cloud nine that she knew about such cool art lol.
AND THEN!!!
The song on the radio changed and she said, “Is this Led Zeppelin?” And my little heart just broke into tiny shards of lovingness because it was indeed, Led Zeppelin lol…
I told her I was totally gonna blog about how cool she’s become lately!!

Listen…
Ok here are two vastly different songs, but I love them both… Give them a try!!
(Oh, on the Lucinda Williams one, the only video I could find of it on YouTube has some dude in a retarded wig reading a poem before the music… so just ignore him haha! The Moldy Peaches video is someone’s school project, but its kinda cute.)
Lucinda Williams: Those Three Days
This song was on Juno which we watched today while the kids were at the Children’s Museum. If you haven’t seen it, you should… It was really really good.

Another Reason to Hate the Snow
Man oh man… the kids were supposed to go to my aunt’s house tonight and stay the night then go the the Children’s Museum tomorrow, but the weather might be putting the kibosh on those plans. *cry*
My uncle said that the roads are pretty bad over by their house and he’d rather we meet them in the morning when more time has been spent on clearing the roads. I don’t know the final answer yet – I told her we were disappointed because we had been looking forward to our date night and she said she was gonna talk to my uncle again and then call me back. LOL We’ll see…
UPDATE: Well, he said he didn’t want her out, so we are meeting them at 9:30am tomorrow. Charles said we could go out, but now he’s being a butthole and said he doesn’t want to go anywhere… *sigh*

Movies and Illness Update
We haven’t watched many movies lately, but I guess there are a few.
Right now we are watching Saw IV – hopefully it won’t disappoint.
Good Luck Chuck: Cute, but somewhat overly “goofy” in parts.
Stazione Termini (Indiscretion of an American Wife): 1952 B&W film about a woman who is leaving her Italian lover and going back to her husband and daughter. It was pretty boring by today’s standards lol.
Gone With the Wind: Classic, of course!!
There are a few movies on the DVR ready to watch but getting the time when we can sit down and actually pay attention to a movie uninterrupted is difficult lately.
Everyone is pretty much back to normal. Our house still sounds like some TB clinic with all the coughing, but its getting better. Seems as though my sinus infection wants to settle in my ear, so I’m dealing with a stupid ear infection. I’m crossing my pinky toes that it gets better soon so that I don’t have to go to the doctor for it. I’ve been having crazy headaches and dizziness for several days now, and I will be VERY glad when that quits. BUT – good news, we’ve been vomit free for DAYS now lol!!! That’s always a plus.
We also have snow/freezing rain/sleet/grossness headed our way for the next two days, but I’m not holding my breath that we’ll get much of anything. Weather seems to usually pass over our subdivision for some reason. But we’ll see. Its keeping Dorothy from coming up though, so it sucks already.

“Late-Talking Children” Thomas Sowell
Published research indicates that male hormones promote the kinds of brain functions involved in abstract spatial conceptions and mathematics. This is also consistent with test results in which males outnumber females by 13 to 1 among those rare junior high school students who can score 700 or higher on the mathematics portion of the Scholastic Aptitude Test.
In the light of this, it is hardly surprising that our group of late-talking children with special analytical abilities is overwhelmingly male.
Well, that was pretty boring lol…
I don’t really have 5 people that I know online well enough to ask them to do this lol….

iPod Heaven
Well, after about a year and a half, I finally got my iPod charged and own earphones that fit it – AT THE SAME TIME!!! Yay me!!! I’m so excited I can grocery shop to tunes again and not have to hear anyone speak to me!!
(Ya, I’m like that lol)
So anyway, I’m enjoying some of the fun songs on there I haven’t heard in forever, and thought you might like some fun, too! Of course these are just a few of the funner songs I found flipping through the 1600 songs quickly hahahah!!
Tom Petty – Girl on LSD
Trio – Da Da Da
Wu Tang Clan – Gravel Pit
The Candy Cave
South Park Mexican – High So High
Bloodhound Gang – Mope (lmao no, PacMan, drugs are Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad)
Dead Eye Dick – New Age Girl
Cake – Short Skirt/Long Jacket
Prodigy – Smack my Bitch Up (or “Smack My Picture” as Syd used to say LOL!!)
Len – Steal My Sunshine
Eve – Tambourine
As for the sicknesses around here, well, I’d hoped we were on the upswing – everyone had seemed well yesterday…. until bedtime when Ally threw up on the couch which was far from pleasant, but we got her all cleaned up and she was fine. Then Syd woke up with a headache today, and I was giving her a “make over” and realized she felt really hot… yeah – 102 temp all day. It got as high as 102.5 around 5-6pm but I finally convinced her to take some tylenol and its gone down now and she feels much better. So basically, I’m just wondering who will wake up sick tomorrow. This is day 10 now… Surely its leaving sooooooooooooooon!!!!!!
