Lots-o-pics!
My beautiful kitchen and pantry… (That’s not the whole pantry, there is a whole other 3-4ft of wall around the corner, but it’s too crowded to take a pic of it.) Oh, and notice the clean glasses on top of the cabinets, yes, that was fun getting those down lol. And and and – last but not least – there is BREAD in the oven… YUM!!!
These were taking today at Cracker Barrel during an intense game of hangman. 
And last but not least, a picture I have hanging in one of my cabinets. My grandpa is the one with the sword. This was taken in Korea I believe. LOL I wonder if he picked out the floral curtains that are hanging in the doorway HAHA!!

Eye Candy Friday – postponed…
I am going to put up pics of my spic and span kitchen and pantry, but I’m just too frikkin’ tired to take the pics tonight lol. So you have to wait.
Tonight was interesting. Sydney is terrified of elevators and she is going to go on a trip (can’t say where yet in case she reads this cuz its a surprise) this weekend/Monday with my parents. She is so afraid she is going to have to ride in an elevator at the hotel. So… I took her downtown (Indy) so we could ride in the Hyatt elevator because its got a glass wall and you go under a waterfall. She was SO AFRAID that I had to shove her into the elevator. There was a cop in the lobby and I just knew he was gonna arrest me for child abuse or something shoving my daughter with all the force I could muster into the elevator as she clung to the sides with her arms and legs like a cat who thinks he’s about to get a bath. haha! Oh, and there was shrieking. Lots of shrieking. But we went up to the restaurant on the 21st floor and didn’t die, but she wasn’t convinced. The poor little thing was trembling, I thought she was going to hyperventilate or something. She did calm down after the first couple of minutes but she never did like it. We went up and down a few tiems and then left and I don’t know if she is traumatized or feeling better about elevators…
I’m hoping it helped. She said later it did and felt good about how brave she was.
All the kiddos are leaving tomorrow. The little ones are going to Mammaw’s and Syd is going on her trip then they are doing a “switcheroo” and some are going to Nana’s and some to Mammaw’s, lol. Who goes where when will be anyone’s guess at that point, I think. But we will have 5-7 days kid free – WooHoo!!! Of course we will be missing them like mad after like 2 days and not really able to have any fun lol… Oh well, that’s the way it is, I suppose.

She did NOT catch any mice by the tails or anything, but she did have one climb down her leg. I would have peed my pants had that happened to ME! But she laughed… Freako!
It looks SOOOOOOOOOOO nice! I got all my kitchen cabinets gone through and cleaned and organized now, too, which I’d been working on for a few days. (I have a TON of cabinets in my kitchen.) So now I have so much more room, it’s loverly.
But I am worn out. Seriously.

Time to DYE
Cute purplish/burgandy haircolor is sitting on my head as I type! I can’t wait to see how it turns out… This is very strange, but usually Charles dyes my hair – he likes to do it, and it helps me get better coverage, but I decided to go it alone this time. He loved the color, so hopefully it looks as cool as we hope!
LOL Yup, I’m a compulsive hair dyer… LOL My hair has been red (not fire engine, but like a red-head), bleach blonde, blonde with pink streaks, black, and auburn. One day I’m going to dye it black with purple streaks, but this will due for now.
UPDATE: *sigh* Less than thrilled. It doesn’t look bad, but it’s not what I’d hoped for. It didn’t taken on my black hair at all, only on the 6in or so that had grown out. Like I said it doesn’t look wacky or anything, but I’d hoped too high. I think I will buy another box and and try again next week.

Lovin’ Indy Freecycle!
I have recently discovered the joys of Freecycle.org. I have only been fortunate enough to grab two things quick enough, but I’ve gotten Sydney a big box of books (Judy Blume, and some great children’s classics), and today I picked up curtains for the kids’ rooms (Monster’s Inc. and Spiderman). The woman even threw in some Halloween hand towels and a pillowcase. I have some things around here I think I’m going to Freecycle, too. I usually take most things to Thrifty Threads where women who live in a local women’s shelter shop free-of-charge. Two years ago when I cleaned out my house, we took at least five trunk loads full of stuff, including like 10 trash bags full of clothes. I’m looking forward to seeing what all we can donate this time, too. We are really trying to scale down our lives, if you can’t tell.
So anyway, when I was picking up the curtains, I stopped at Georgetown Market a local natural foods store and picked up some bulk spices and some yeast. Man, I tell you, the grocery stores making a killing of a profit on yeast!!! You buy those crappy convenient three-packs for like $2, right?? I bought a half-pound bag of bulk yeast (which is undoubtedly fresher…) for $2. I haven’t been able to find bulk yeast for a long time since Nature’s Cupboard stopped carrying it. That’s part of the reason I haven’t been making bread. Well, ok, its a VERY small part of why lol… Anyway, now I can make some delicious homemade bread again on Saturday and take some to my aunt’s house for supper – mmmmm mmmm good!
Hmm, it seems like this post was full of links and advertisements… maybe they should be paying me to talk about some places I like…
The joys of a nap!
Last night I only slept about 45min total. I just couldn’t go to sleep. So this afternoon I told Charles I needed to go lie down and take a nap. The girls wanted to go outside, so I asked Trey if he wanted to go watch cartoons in my room while I took a nap. Surprisingly, he did. He held my hand while I tried to go to sleep and even though he kept poking me to see what was on TV, after about 20min I looked over and he was asleep. Hehehe, tricky tricky Mommy!! We both slept for about an hour and a half when the girls came in COVERED from head to toe with mud. I told them to get immediately into the tub, where Sydney proceeded to get shampoo in Ally’s eyes and they both emptied Charles’ bodywash. *sigh* And the WORST part is, the dog is still outside dirty as a hog… *SIGH* Calgon take me away!!!!! LOL

Two things that are so not related they shouldn’t be in one post
Update on C. – She was visited by a “child cancer doctor” (lol that’s how he was described to me, so I’m just relaying the facts…) and he said that he isn’t ruling OUT cancer, but he isn’t immediately jumping to that conclusion like the first doctor did yesterday. They will have to wait for final results in three days for the official diagnosis. Anyway, this second dr. said that it appeared to him to be an infection in the bone or possibly a tumor, but he wasn’t positive it looked cancerous to him based on the MRI. So we really don’t know anything yet, but there is hope, it seems.
And as for the TOTALLY unrelated thing and I mean it’s so on the opposite end of the emotional spectrum it probably shouldn’t even BE in the same post as the above update, but hey, I’m anything but conventional…

Yes, I really did. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gross. There was grossness in there that I won’t even discuss with you all… The entire cabinet where the trashcan is kept was d-i-s-g-u-s-t-i-n-g! And… I cleaned it ALL!!!!!!! The best part is that I encountered ZERO living things woohoo!
So now, as of today, I have officially worn out and thrown away one of the dishcloths I knit. LOL My kids were freaking out that I had to throw one away, they were like, “Are you SURE you wanna do that???” I said, “Well, it has like 5 holes in it and serious grossness from the trash cabinet!”

Movies
Today we watched one of my fav-o-rite movies: Elizabethtown. Its just so REAL… I don’t know why so many people hated this film, I love it!
This weekend, we also watched The Holiday and while it was ok, it was less than I had expected and hoped for.
I also have been watching Harold and Maude which let me just say is quite humorous, I have been laughing my butt off all the way through it! Harold and his fake suicides are a riot… I haven’t finished it yet (I’m about 2/3 of the way through), and yes, I know what happens and all that jazz lol.
